Katie Shannon

Katie Shannon is an artist based between Glasgow and London whose work moves across visual art, performance, writing, and event-making. Often collaborative and situational, projects unfold through relationships, encounters and shared spaces; contextually arriving through the connections which they explore. Whether between people, place, time, or material, these conjunctions are grounded in the politics of social and emotional labour, class, and communal experience. Her works often resist clear categorisation and sit between mediums: part performance, part publication, part event. Drawing on her background in music and nightlife, Shannon treats the event as a medium in itself (informed by years of making club-based projects that pre-date and sit alongside gallery presentations). Her ongoing research interests interrogate the histories of musical sub-cultures, feminist re-readings of time and space, pedestrian and public artforms, and subjective perceptions of ‘the end’. Shannon’s activities emerge through a Socialist Feminist lens which foregrounds overlooked scenes, peripheral voices, and collective structures, anchoring her work within the politics of attention and refusal.

Katie Shannon's upcoming exhibitions include Back Room Virgin Prune at CCA Goldsmiths, 2026. Shannon has produced both solo and collaborative outputs including exhibitions Bedding, TINA, London (2026); DEVECORPOSTO with Neven Gallery, London (2025) last for for a ...
