Scott Young’s practice increasingly operates at the intersection of painting and music, treating each not as separate disciplines but as mutually informing structures. At Artissima 2026 a selection of paintings is accompanied by a sound element drawn from a film score that underpins a broader body of work. This introduces a performative dimension to the booth, with a recorded sound component experienced through speakers. Emphasis here is to extend the paintings into a temporal, affective register.

Underlying this is an ongoing interest in how meaning adheres to objects and images.
