Parrhesiades is a project, started by Lynton Talbot for artists working with text, where language either written, spoken or in some way performed forms an essential part of their work and process. Since 2019 it has variously been a project space, a publishing platform, and a series of conversations with artists. The work arrives as events in partnership with other galleries and institutions, as online artwork at parrhesiades.com and in print in a series of books. Parrhesiades has partnered with Camden Arts Centre, South London Gallery, Flat Time House, Roberts Institute, CCA Goldsmiths, Galerija Prozori, Zagreb and Radio Athenes, Athens. Projects from Volume 1 included new works by Sung Tieu, Jesper List Thomsen, Elaine Cameron-Wier, Johanna Hedva, Eva Gold, and Cally Spooner with a forward by Quinn Latimer. Volume 2 includes the work of Anaïs Duplan, Will Harris, Isabel Waidner, Tai Shani, Caspar Heinemann, Quinn Latimer, Sophia Al Maria, P. Staff, Sophie Jung and Toby Christian with a forward by Sophie Collins. A launch event at TINA for parrhesiades Volume 2 will take place in 2025. These publications are currently for sale with the gallery.
